LOCATIONS
The Homestead at Cushing
A short drive from Route 1 in Thomaston, Cushing is a small Maine town that incorporated in 1789 and, according to the last census in 2020, still retains it’s rural feel with only 1,502 residents. It is a favorite destination for people seeking the quiet, unspoiled natural setting it has to offer. One of the people drawn to Cushing for it’s beauty was Andrew Wyeth, whose painting, “Christina’s World,” featured the Olson House, which is in Cushing.
The Homestead at Cushing rests on a small hill above a tranquil pond offering residents a peaceful, bright and sunny home, where they can enjoy the beautiful gardens in the spring and summer as well as abundant wildlife year-round. The Homestead at Cushing boasts two cozy living rooms, each with its own fireplace, an intimate dining room and kitchen, two sunny and cozy sitting areas as well as a screened in deck and a patio that allow residents to take in the surrounding beauty. Situated on a private road, with only 10 rooms including 2 suites, the Homestead at Cushing provides both privacy and socialization in a cozy, familiar setting.
The Homestead at Owls Head
Following the coastline south from Rockland, you enter the beautiful town of Owls Head. While a seemingly rural small town, Owls Head offers an array of wonderful beaches, as well as a State Park, Regional Airport, Transportation Museum and Lighthouse. Owls Head became it’s own town in 1921, when it separated from South Thomaston.
The Homestead at Owls Head takes full advantage of it’s coastal location by offering beautiful views of the harbor from the living room, dining room, kitchen and many of the residents’ rooms. Owls Head has 14 wonderful rooms, some of which are suites and can accommodate small living and dining areas. The Homestead at Owls Head offers residents convenience and ease of living by taking care of the cleaning, laundry and cooking, leaving residents time to relax and socialize. In the summer, the screened-in sun porch provides enjoyment of the outdoors without the nuisance of black flies and mosquitoes.
